Physicians Angels provides one-of-a-kind EMR data management services to healthcare providers through our real-time Virtual Scribe service.
We designed our Virtual Scribe service to free clinicians from the burdensome requirements of EMR documentation and allow providers to spend
time focusing on patients instead of notes.
On average our “Angels” help providers find at least 5 hours per week (usually more) for more enjoyable activities such as time with family and friends. Afser Shariff, M.D.
Founder & Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Shariff is a board certified Otolaryngologist with extensive private practice and academic experience. He has served as the head of surgery and head of ENT at multiple facilities. He co-founded and built several successful healthcare ventures prior to starting Physicians Angels in 2007.
Dr. Shariff was a founding board member of a non-profit think tank, and has helped to raise millions of dollars to fund research and policy creation. Dr. Shariff envisioned, designed, and assembled Physicians Angels’ Virtual Scribe concept, and has been intimately involved with every detail of the company since its beginning. He is based in our Toledo, Ohio office.
Kevin Brady
President & CEO
Kevin oversees the daily operations of Physicians Angels, promotes the Physicians Angels' brand, and manages business development initiatives with the company’s many healthcare partners.
Kevin also manages and promotes the company's newest service line, Staffing Angels: Virtual Back Office solutions that include insurance verification, coding & billing, and prior authorization services.
Kevin has over two decades of government and private sector experience. Before joining Physicians Angels, Kevin specialized in international economic development and project management in the Middle East and South Asia, having served with the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer, and as an U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer. He is based in Austin, Texas.
Naheed Chinwalla
Director of Finance
Naheed has over 10 years of experience in the energy and healthcare industries. She is skilled in financial budgeting, planning & forecasting; peer/competitor review; market research/analysis and financial modeling. Naheed has worked for Marathon Petroleum Corporation, CMS Energy, GE Capital and, most recently, Welltower.
Naheed comes to Physicians Angels with an MA in International Finance from Columbia University in NYC, a BA in International Economics from Georgetown University in D.C., and has completed Level 1 of the CFA exam. She is based in our Toledo, Ohio office.
Mir Zakir Ali
Executive Vice President and Director of Operations
Zakir manages our Virtual Scribe operations centers in India. He brings to Physicians Angels 20 years of management experience in out-sourced healthcare services, including 14 years in the Virtual Medical Scribing Industry. Before co-founding Physicians Angels, Zakir was the Head of Operations at BreakThrough Technologies – a healthcare business process outsourcing company – where he built a team of 500+ employees.
As Executive Vice President and Director of Operations at Physicians Angels, Zakir has designed and implented a Lean Six Sigma operational model of continuous improvement ensuring Quality, Reliability and Enablement. In addition, Zakir also oversees staffing, hiring, and training.
Prem Anand Manimaran
Director of IT and Product Development
Prem Anand has over two decades of experience leading software companies in the Middle-East, Europe, and India. Prem's extensive expertise provides a deep understanding of large-scale business processes and services for the development of software to ease and streamline businesses. Before co-founding Physicians Angels, Prem served as Director of Sales and Customer Delivery at BreakThrough Technologies, which grew to a 500+ employees.
As Director of IT and Client Services, Prem's core areas of focus are: the development of client-based software solutions for more effective practice management, improving client experience, and ensuring continued innovation using Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning. His in-depth knowledge of the US Healthcare market has helped facilitate the development of state-of-the-art software and technologies.
